Blog Award

I just received a blog award. I was going to say, "My first", but then that sounded a bit presumptuous to me. It assumes I will get more. Hehehe. I am honored that Kim, over at, Snippets of Life, thought of me. Thank you so much Kim.

There are rules after recieving this reward:

Thank the person who sent it to you

Tell Us 7 things about yourself

Send/Reward this to 15 bloggers

So here we go. 7 things about myself.
1. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I'm not ashamed to proclaim it.

2. I've been married to my wonderful, patient husband 29 years, come this August.

3. We have his and ours (as opposed to his, mine and ours), totaling 6 adult children. He came with 2.
I adore all 6. I often say I am one blessed momma.

4. I have been blessed to have horses in my life. They've taught me a lot.

5. I dabbled in crafting, sewing, and baking, before I started home schooling 5 of our 6 children. It is nice to
get back into it (crafting). At this point I am focused more on cards, but I plan to start venturing out more.
I think card making will always be a passion for me, though.

6.  I rode in the 2008 Rose Parade, in Pasadena, California, on my Peruvian Paso. It was a fantasy come
     true.

7. Don't you love it when you're asked to narrow your life down into 7 things? Hmmm. One more thing.
What shall I choose?   I am surrounded by techie people, but I have no tech savvy.

Now here are 15 (or soon to be) blogs I want to pass this award onto

First of all, let me say this was hard. It has taken me hours and I still have two to add.

Saturday, Made by Momo, and Birthday Project.

Well, it's Saturday and I'm trying to working on a project for one of my granddaughters. Her birthday is today, and I'm trying to get through that long list of bloggers over at Made by Momo's. All I can say is WOW!!! So many beautiful blog pages and wonderful talent out there. I am so excited that Momo started this, because it has made me take time to meet some of you. What a gift. I look forward to seeing your creations and making some new friends.

If you're visiting today for the first time, welcome. *Hugs* to my new followers. I am so honored that you took the time to follow. What a fun journey we are all on together.

Enjoy the journey : )

Fast and Fabulous Peach Parfait card

Today's card was inspired by SU Sunny Garden designer series paper and Momo, over at Made by Momo. She generously gave of her time and energy, starting a "link to your blog thing". She did this to help those of us who have less than 200 followers to get more followers. Her RAK has encouraged me and I am so looking forward to sharing projects with my new and old followers. Thank you for visiting.

Hope you enjoy the journey with me : )

Botanical Gazette Fast and Fabulous Card

So I'm suppose to be resting, because after getting a cold about three weeks ago, I was left with a cough that won't go away. The more I talk, laugh or do any activity the more I cough. My daughter and I lead worship for one of the women's bible studies at church, but I had to let her sing by herself this morning.  So what do you think is  my favorite thing to do when I'm suppose to be resting? Answer: Catching up on my favorite bloggers and Youtubers.  I usually try to do it Sundays after church, because that's my day to rest.

Anyway, today I was watching the new videos put up by the people I follow on Youtube (I also subscribe to some of their blogs). To my suprise there was Momo (see her cute button on the sidebar), who was breifly MIA. When she finished her project, she shared that she was having a "link your blog thing" on her blog. She was doing this for those of us who don't have a lot of followers. That is so sweet of her!! You rock Momo.  Well, she inspired me so much by her generous jester, that I decided that even though I'm "suppose to be resting" I would make sure to post today. I hadn't planned on doing it until tomorrow, becasuse I usually am not home on Wednesday, and even though I was home today, again, I am "suppose to be resting". How many times have I used that phrase already. Anyway, above is a card I made to thank one of my customers. I was rushing out the door when I took this picture so it's not the greatess.

Purple Lattice Butterfly Card

Here's another version of the card I made in my last video. The background paper is doublesided in both projects. I just used oneside in one layer and the otherside for the next layer. I did the same thing with the butterfly. I added a vellum butterfly in between the two patterned ones. This is a really cool die. There are so many pretty cards and scrapbook pages you can make with these beautiful butterflies. This is only two of the cutouts (there are four).

I used my Bigz Lattice die for the next layer. It was cut out using a metalic textured paper I had in my craftroom.

I'm so excited about my ribbon flowers. This is my favorite one so far, because it's in my favorite SU color, Rich Razzleberry. No, I'm not just saying that because I'm a demonstrator. I mean look at it; it's a gorgeous color! I also inked the edges of everything in this beautiful color. The last think I added are those pretty little pearls you see. Everything was placed on our pretty Perfect Plum cardstock. Oh yes, the lattice cutout and the butterfly were popped up using Stampin' dimensionals.

As much as I love learning from others, I get the most satisfaction when I come up with my own designs. I have to say this one made me happy. That seldom happens. You know how it is. Sometimes I make something and I don't like it at all; other times, I think it's o.k., and every now and then it puts a smile on my face. Well, I hope it puts a smile on your face too. Let me know what you think.

One more thing.

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year; I'm so excited it's finally here (though you couldn't tell it last night when it was snowing at my place). So, I'm planning on introducing you to a couple of special friends of mine. God put them in my life several years ago to play a small part in this journey called life. I have learned so much from them. I can't wait for you to meet them. So keep checkin in. I think you will be glad you did : )

Hope you're enjoying the journey with me.

Everything but the background patterned paper, half back pearls, the button, and the paper used for the lattice, is Stampin Up. Cardstock, Bigz Lattice die, rich razzleberry ribbon, Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die, vellum and inks can all be ordered from me at www.lmdstampin.stampinup.net.

Pretty and Pink Butterfly card

Well, today is a pink day. Today's card is very, very pink with pearls and diamonds. Oooh, gotta love diamonds...Dazzling Diamonds that is. I can't seem to get enough of all that beautiful sparkle. Guess you can say, I'm dazzled by it. Hehehe. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed designing it.

Hope you're enjoying the journey with me : ) If you are, why not let me know you stopped by and if you're not a subscriber, now would be a perfect time to become one : D

Thank you so much for visiting.

2 x 3 luminaries

These are so quick and easy to make, I don't know why the video is so long. Believe it or not it was almost 10 minutes longer! Oh well, I hope you like it dispite its length. Just get yourself a hot drink or something refreshing to drink, sit back and enjoy. Your comments are greatly valued.

Hope you're enjoying the journey with me : )

Floral Element cards

Today's video showcases the simple elegance of using one color on a Whisper White backdrop. I like colors and patterns as much as the next person, but sometimes I put things together and I just don't like the end result. That never happens when I use two tones, a monochromatic scheme, or one color on a neutral (like Whisper White) background.

Also, there few things more satisfying to me than making my own embellishments, so I loved how easy and fast it was to make the roses on the cards. And who can ask for more perfect matches for those roses, than the beautiful flourish, from the Elements of Style Stamp set, and Iridescent Ice embossing powder? Can you tell, I kinda enjoyed making these? Well, I hope you enjoy the video and you too will enjoy making your own. This is a great project for those of us who like instant gratification or who don't have a lot of time to craft.

Hope you're enjoying the journey with me : )
